Welcome to an exciting, mysterious and inspiring talk about the great bard himself! It will be an evening all about Shakespeare, his contemporaries, the time they lived in and playwright, actress and theatre director Vivienne McKee’s take on the great question of authorship.
The talk is inspired by Vivienne’s play “Shakespeare’s Ghost” which will open in November at the theater ‘Teatret ved Sorte Hest’ in Copenhagen. The play examines the many mysteries surrounding the playwright who wrote the greatest works of English literature.
Could Stratford-born Shakespeare, with his meagre education and ignorance of the aristocracy, have written "Hamlet“, "Henry 5", “Macbeth"? Many believe he did not, and that he was the “ghost writer“ for his brilliant contemporary, Christopher Marlowe, supposedly killed in a pub fight at the height of his theatre success. Did Marlowe, who risked torture and execution, fake his own death and write the famous plays in hiding?
Join us for an exciting evening where Vivienne McKee investigates Marlowe’s mysterious murder, and his connection to the man known as - William Shakespeare. It is bound to be an evening to remember!
