GANNI, the ruthlessly honest Scandinavian fashion brand, is driven by a mission to demonstrate the principles of responsible business, where greater purpose co-exists with financial ambitions.
We are thrilled to invite you to an exciting conversation about the journey of this ground breaking brand and the ideas, values and vision that formed it.
In The GANNI Playbook, co-founder Nicolaj Reffstrup unveils the strategies that propelled GANNI to international stardom (although he'd never say that about their journey), while candidly unravelling the cultural, operational and creative components required to construct a business that embraces an uncertain future.
The GANNI Playbook is the ultimate hands-on guide to managing a decisive, direct and unapologetic brand.
About Nicolaj Reffstrup
Nicolaj Reffstrup, Founder of GANNI, acted as CEO of the Danish fashion brand for 10 years, alongside his wife and Creative Director, Ditte Reffstrup. In 2013 GANNI hired their first CRS manager while the team consisted of less than 15 employees. GANNI started mapping and compensating their full carbon footprint by 2016. In December 2017 Nicolaj managed the partnering of GANNI with L Catterton, the LVMH-funded global leader in consumer brand investment, to support GANNI in achieving its international potential. In 2018 Nicolaj stepped down as CEO to focus his efforts fully on tech, storytelling and most importantly the brand's responsibility progress. In 2019 The brand embarked on a number of ambitious responsibility commitments counting a +44 goals gameplan to be reached by 2023 across four main pillars; People, Planet, Product and Prosperity. That same year Nicolaj and Ditte Reffstrup were welcomed to the BOF500 definitive list of people shaping the global fashion industry. More recently GANNI has committed to a 50% absolute carbon reduction by 2027, three years ahead of the Paris Agreement.
Alongside his work at GANNI, Nicolaj is a trusted industry expert and has sat on the board of Danish Fashion Institute, Copenhagen Fashion Week and Global Fashion Agenda. Nicolaj also acts as Chairman and co-owner of Copenhagen-based brands Sophie Bille Brahe and Tekla Fabrics, while also being a guiding Venture Partner for Giant Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on green and responsible projects.
Nicolaj has a Masters in Information Technology from the IT University of Copenhagen and a Bachelor in Economics and Philosophy from Copenhagen Business School.
