Calling all fans of teen detective stories!
It is a great pleasure for us to welcome back Carina Axelsson, author of the hugely successful fashion detective series about sixteen-year-old sleuth/model Axelle Anderson and her adventures in London, Paris, New York and Milan where mysteries need solving and fashion needs showing!
Carina will be at the shop on Thursday March 8 @ 17:00 for a fun talk about her books and her author life!.
About Carina Axelsson
Carina is half Swedish and half Mexican, and was born and raised in Northern California. She has worked as a model in New York and Paris. After taking art classes and phasing out of modeling, Carina wrote and illustrated her first book, Nigel of Hyde Park, a picture book for 4-6 years olds about a frizzy haired dragon. It was published by Assouline in 2004.
After modelling, Carina worked for British fashion designer John Galliano, who was then based at the fashion house Christian Dior, in Paris. It was during this time that she wrote the first notes about a girl detective who solves fashion mysteries. These notes later became A Crime of Fashion (published in the UK by Usborne, 2014, and in the US by Sourcebooks, 2014), the first book in my new fashion detective series, Model Under Cover.
Today Carina lives in Germany and writes full time.
